The great boom that the Free Voluntary Reading (FVR) is cureently having in world language classes has allowed us to know much better the reading tastes of our students. In addition to allow and motivate students to appreciate the exercise of reading, another goal of FVR and especially in the L2 class, is to provide an opportunity for them to be cognizant of their reading proficiency level every time they choose a particular book. As a bonus, they can experience success when realizing that they can read in a second language.

There are as many books and stories as favorite topics among students.
The journalist written by Andrew Snider is a story that develops almost cinematographically in two Spanish-speaking countries, Puerto Rico and Ecuador. Snider’s narration is practical, fast and to the point. The readers will feel like they are in the middle of an action movie. Surely students will not want to stop reading until they know what will happen to main character Gabriela, “la periodista”.

Me encantan tus actividades.

Saludos M. Paulina.
