A FUN WAY TO REVIEW THE FUTURE TENSE

I knew that Target bag and the Crystal Apple Award were going to come in handy at some point!

Soon students will take their final exams for each class and while looking for some activities to review the use of the future tense I thought about this activity.

I give each student a worksheet you can find HERE. In a container I put pieces of paper where I have written the names of all the students in the class so each student takes one randomly.

As you can read in the worksheet directions, each student will write ten sentences about a classmate´s future.  I ask them to try to imagine what their partner’s future will look like in five years, in five different aspects of their lives.

I thought the activity wasn’t going to take too long but I was wrong.  Students really wanted to spend some time thinking about the future of their classmates. As I saw them so serious, I asked them to relax and add some humor.

After about 20 minutes students finished writing their sentences. They handed me the completed worksheets and as you can see in this post´s pic, I played the role of the main seer and read their future for each one of them.

They were very attentive because they had to discover who the person described was and who had written it. It was a fun activity that reinforced one use of the future tense in Spanish plus it´s conjugation.

HERE you can find a couple of student examples. If you have a class with more than 20 students, I recommend dividing it into two groups and exchanging the papers so that each student reads the future of a student different from the one they picked.
