LA PAELLA Y LA ROSCA DE REYES

I recently shared a PODCAST PROJECT I gave to my upper level classes students as their midterm final. I will be sharing some of their work that Spanish teachers are welcome to use in their classes with their own students.  

This particular podcast was especially made to be used in the Spanish 2 or 3 classes, even in some Spanish 4 classes, depending on your students proficiency level.  

Each podcast project contains: Podcast recording, typed script, a quiz with key and a vocabulary. (The whole lesson!).

Let’s listen to Libby and Molly, two students in my AP Spanish Language and Culture class at Louisville Collegiate School.  Libby and Molly talk about two very popular and traditional foods in the hispanic world: Paella and Rosca de Reyes.   They would be very happy to know that you and your students will benefit from this material.

  1. Gracias Sr. Ojeda por compartir sus materiales y gracias también a sus alumnos. Lo digo sin intención de ofender, pero como español de España y viviendo particularmente en Valencia (cuna de la paella) le puedo decir que esa receta de paella no seria muy acertada por esos lugares. Es un tema muy espinoso, ese de cómo cocinar la paella. En cada región tienen su receta y la cocinan de una forma diferente. Cada uno piensa que la suya es la mejor. La gastronomía, como el español es muy diverso e interestante de conocer sus diferencias. Queda invitado a degustar una autentica paella valenciana. Es un tema interesante para seguir investigando. Buen trabajo, sigan así!

    1. Saludos Profe . Tienes toda la razón y a veces sacrificamos ese aspecto tan importante por sólo concentrarnos en practicar el idioma. Me aseguraré de que las fuentes usadas en el futuro sean más auténticas y veraces. Tuve la oportunidad de estar en Valencia y degustar una deliciosa paella frente al Mediterráneo, una experiencia que nunca olvidaré. Gracias por tu amable y sincero comentario.
